Driveway Cleaning

Driveway cleaning and sealing is our most requested service, probably with block paving as the most common surface, although we also clean & seal imprinted concrete and restore tarmac - please see the other tabs for more information on those.

Block paved driveways in particular suffer from weed and moss growth due to the sand-filled joints separating the blocks. These tend to be a breeding ground! Also, the porous nature of the blocks gives rise to ideal conditions for algae and lichens to form.

Add to that, vehicles driving over and sitting on the surface and these driveways can look very unkempt and grubby in a few years.

Our service generally consists of:

• Pre-treating with weed killer and/or fungicidal wash if necessary
• Cleaning the surface with a professional pressure washer and equipment
• After it's completely dry, re-sanding the joints with kiln-dried sand
• Applying 2 coats of high quality Smartseal™ Block Paving Sealer

As Registered Installers for Smartseal™, we find sealing the surface gives the best possible protection against future weed and moss growth, as well as bringing out the natural colours in the blocks and reducing future maintenance for the homeowner. Oil stains, tyre marks and exhaust residue, for example, are much simpler to get rid of if the surface has been sealed.
